6 The Robotino charging station

6.1 Function

The charging station is intended for use with the mobile learning system Robotino ® 3. The charging station
®
makes it possible for the Robotino 3 to dock onto a power supply unit in order to recharge its internal
batteries.
It's only necessary to mount a contact plug to Robotino ® 3, which establishes the connection between the
®
charging station and Robotino 3. Robotino can still be operated and programmed during charging.
The charging station is equipped with a control switch which renders the contacts voltage-free when no
Robotino ® 3 is docked.
The blue LED on the top of the charging station indicates whether operating voltage is present.
The red LED on the top of the charging station indicates whether or not voltage is being applied to the
contacts, i.e. whether or not a Robotino ® 3 is docked.
