See Figure 2
Step 7
Reconnect thermostat, connect in main power supply, and turn main
gas supply on.
Step 8
Turn up thermostat to call for heat.
Step 9
When burner lights, set the manifold gas pressure by turning the
adjustment screw that holds the regulator spring that was replaced
in step 6, of the unit covers.
Decrease Pressure
Counter Clock Wise
The Natural Gas unit should be set to (4" W.C.) and the LP unit
should be set to (10" W.C.). The manometer illustration
(See Figure 2) shows each of the pressure readings.
Step 10
Turn down thermostat, disconnect main power, and turn main gas
off to appliance.

Step 11
Disconnect manometer from appliance and replace test plug on
valve.
Step 12
Connect main power, turn main gas back on, and turn up
thermostat to call for heat. When main burner lights check all
connections thoroughly for gas leaks.
Allow the heater to operate for at least 5 minutes, then observe
the main burner flame. A hard blue flame extending into the
tube is normal. Slight yellow tipping is acceptable. There is no air
adjustment on burner.
Step 13
To ensure the correct rate is obtained, the orifice size should be
verified during and after installation. The orifice size for Natural Gas
is (.074") and for LP the size is (.046"). These sizes are stamped on
the side of the orifice. There are three (3) orifices for the
MHU/HSU-45 heaters and five (5) orifices for the MHU/HSU-75
heaters. The manifold pressure should be verified after installation
so that a natural gas pressure of (4"WC) or an LP pressure of (10"WC)
is obtained. Enerco Group Inc is confident that with proper orifices and
correct manifold pressure, your MHU/HSU heater will be operating at
its correct BTU rating.
