ASSEMBLY
1.
Remove the two screws from the
connector assembly. Remove plastic
insert by pulling upward.
2.
With ON/OFF switch facing the front,
slide upper handle section over
matching section of the connector
assembly. Hold handle brace against
upper handle and align screw holes.
Insert one screw into top hole and
one screw into the bottom hole, then
tighten firmly until handle is no
longer loose.
OPERATION
IMPORTANT: DO NOT operate the
cleaner without a paper filter
dust bag.
1. First, make sure the disposable
paper filter dust bag is in place.
2. Plug the power cord into an
electrical outlet and press
the On (l) - OFF (O) switch on
Helping Handle Assembly.
REPLACING THE
FILTER DUST BAG
WARNING:
To reduce
the risk of injury from moving
parts – Unplug before cleaning
or servicing.
All paper dust bags are NOT the
same. Your ORECK® disposable dust
bags have been designed to be used
with the ORECK® cleaner. Using
bags other than genuine ORECK®
disposable bags will affect the
cleaning ability of your cleaner and
could cause damage to it.

Problem
Possible Cause
Cleaner will not run
1. Not plugged in properly
2. No electricity in wall outlet.
Cleaner does not pick up
1. Filter bag is full.
2. Nozzle or intake pivot clogged.
3. Belt is broken or stretched.
4. Brush is worn.
5. Bag tube clogged
6. Bag pores are clogged with fine dust
7. Impeller fan is broken.
8. Revolving brush is not even at both ends

1.
Unzip outer bag and remove
filled bag.
Hook bottom of bag collar opening
under lip "B" of connector assembly.
Pull up on bag collar and snap over
lip "A" of connector.
2.
Press on edges of bag collar to insure
bag is completely installed.
IMPORTANT: Make sure bag collar is
behind lips "A" and "B". If it is not, dust
will leak into outer bag. When filter
bag is in place, close outer bag with
zipper fastener.
REPLACING A WORN
BELT
1.
Remove the door by removing the
Hold Down Screw located on side of
power head. Slide the door forward
by prying open with a screwdriver
or coin.
2.
Remove the belt from the brush roll
pulley and the motor drive shaft.

3.
Loop the new belt over the motor
drive shaft. Place the opposite end of
the belt on the brush roll pulley.
4.
Rotate the brush roll all the way
around three (3) times to ensure that
no part of the belt is overhanging the
end of the motor drive shaft.
5.
Replace the door and Hold Down
Screw.
CLEARING A CLOG
If your vacuum cleaner does not pick
up properly, or makes an unusual
noise and the outer bag does not
fluff/ balloon open, there may
be a clog.
1.
Check for clogs in the nozzle inlet. If
there is no clog in the nozzle inlet,
you will need to check the tube.
2.
To check the tube, first unhook
retainer spring, releasing the bottom
of the bag.
Possible Solution
1. Be sure cleaner is firmly plugged into wall outlet.
2. Check electrical source–fuse or circuit breaker.
1. Replace filter bag. See "To Install Paper Filter Dust Bag."
2. Clear obstruction.
3. Replace belt.
4. See "To Adjust or Replace Brush."
5. Clear obstruction.
6. Change bag.
7. Return to Service Center for repair.
8. Check brush roll end cards. Make sure words "old" or "new" match at each end.

Twist lower collar counter clockwise
to slide up. Pull tube out of base.
Check for both ends for a blockage.
If tube is not blocked, look into
fan housing.
To Reassemble:

1.
Check the O-ring on tube and replace
if damaged. Vacuum will not operate
properly without the tube O-ring.
Slide O-ring to approximately 2" from
base of tube. Replace tube by first
lining up slot at base of tube with
inner tab inside fan housing. Then
reinsert tube and push down until the
tube is seated. Make sure O-ring is in
place against fan housing opening.

Replace and tighten collar until
collar locking tabs are locked in
place. Make sure collar is not cross
threaded on housing.
CORD STORAGE
: Press cord
into clip so that the cord is resting
alongside the handle. Wrap the
power cord around the cord hooks
for convenient storage.

LUBRICATION
: The motor is
equipped with bearings which
contain sufficient lubrication for
their lifetime. The addition of
lubricant could cause damage.
Do not add lubricant to motor
bearings.
