If the power of the batteries becomes weaker, please note the following:
– Always exchange a complete set of batteries; do not replace only one battery.
– Batteries are special waste and must be disposed of accordingly. Return the
used batteries to the local authority collecting points or the appropriate shops.
The batteries should not be disposed of in the normal domestic waste. Never
throw batteries into the fire!
Switching the Music Centre on and off
1. Insert the mains plug into a properly installed power socket of 230 V and 50
hertz. The type of operation display (9) lights up in red (red = stand-by, green =
the machine is switched on).
2. The music centre is switched on with the power switch (8). The type of operation
display (9) now changes to green.
3. If the power switch (8) is now pressed again, the music centre switches back to
stand-by. The operation display (9) changes back to red.
Setting the Time
1. Use the POWER switch (8) to change the machine back to stand-by. The type of
operation display (9) lights up in red.
2. Open the operating element flap (7).
3. Press the MEMORY button. The hour figure flashes in the display (5).
4. The hours can be set by pressing the buttons "+" and "-".
5. After you have set the hours, press the MEMORY button once more. It is now
possible to set the minutes by pressing the buttons "+" and "-".
6. In order to store the time, press the MEMORY button once again. The time no
longer flashes in the display (5).
Note: If the entire time display (5) should flash, this means that the time setting has
been lost, possibly as a result of a power cut, and needs to be set once more.
Selecting the Type of Operation
With the function buttons CD/SELECT, FM/MW and AUX you can select the desi-
red type of operation:
CD/Select = play back CDs
FM/MW
= listen to the radio (press once = FM, press twice = MW)
AUX
= play back an external device
Adjusting the Volume
The volume is adjusted independently of the type of operation that has been selec-
ted and is controlled using the VOLUME buttons. In order to reduce the sound level
briefly, press the MUTE button. The word "MUTE" appears in the display (5) and
the three illuminated rings of the CD drives flash. The sound level is reduced great-
ly, but not switched off completely! When this button is pressed again, the sound
returns to the original level.
