III.6. ARRIVAL TO THE CABIN OR TO THE SKILIFT
The VELIGAMES stops at the level of the vehicle's clamp. The rescuer leaves the HELIGAMES and descends on the ski lift or in the cabin to rescue the
-
passengers. When the rescue is finished, he climbs on the vehicle, opens and locks the HELIGAMES (see III.2), removes it from the cable and positions it
again on the cable, downstream the clamp.
Then he starts his descent along the cable to the next vehicle.
III.7. USE IN « VELI » SITUATION
When the slope is too low to allow the VELIGAMES's move by gravity, cancel the "dead manˮ device by activating the locking-hook (1) and then, operate
the cranks (15).
IV. POSSIBLE MODIFICATION OF THE PROPELLER
Depending on the using section to which the device is dedicated, the user is authorized to modify the length of the propeller to increase his movement speed
on the cable.
Two cuts can be made thanks to two markers situated on both sides of the propeller :
If the cable slope is between 5% to 44%, the N°1 cut is authorized.
-
If the cable slope is between 44% to 66%, the N°2 cut is authorized.
-
The cut must be straight and identical on each side of the propeller.
Warning : in case of a slope over 66%, no cut is authorized.
Gamesystem recommends that users indicate with a permanent marker on the propeller that it has been modified.
V. CHECKS BEFORE USE
Check that the propeller (10) is in perfect condition and that its rotation operates the roller's (6) rotation, with no hard point or locking point.
-
Check if the propeller has been modified (there should be 4 notches at each end) ; it it has been, check the good using case of the device as defined in
-
§IV.
Check that the locking hook of the "dead man" device (1) and the one of the locking cam (4) allow the locking on the locking axis (5).
-
Check the good condition of the VELIGAMES, check that there are no assembling screws missing, and that they are correctly fastened; also check that there
-
is no distortion on the counter roller support (11), on the part supporting the seat (12) and on the "dead man" lever (9).
VI. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ACCIDENT PREVENTION
Since the HELIGAMES is a safety device, any operating anomaly or doubt concerning its safety or the safety of one of its component must be reported to the
manufacturer, and the material must be returned for inspection and repair, if required.
It is an obligation to:
Use this device with a harness complying with EN 361, with a back and front hooking point.
-
Use a fall arrest link complying with EN 360 and the manufacturer's recommendations: 1 retractable type fall arrester, with 1 self locking hook diam 60mm
-
and 1 self locking hook diameter 20mm.
VII. STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Since this device is a safety system, it must be stored in a clean and dry place, away from corrosive substances (acid, etc.). During transport, ensure that it is
protected against falls or impacts.
VIII. SERVICING INSTRUCTIONS
This device must be serviced once a year by the manufacturer; during service, worn parts will be replaced and the performance of the device will be
-
checked.
