The ammeter indicator
needle is not moving.
The end of charge LED
indicator flashes
continuously during
the charge.
The ammeter indicator
reaches higher than 20A
when the switch is at
minimum.
The unit trips
CAUSES
Power supply problem
Clamps in short-circuit or polarity
reversal
The battery is deeply damaged
Voltage problem (12V or 24V)
Thermal protection mode is
activated:
The battery is sulphated or one of
its elements has short-circuited.
The amperage control is set to
maximum
The battery is deeply discharged
Voltage problem (12V or 24V)
Some elements of the battery have
short-circuited
You are attempting to start the
vehicle when it is in Charge mode.
You are attempting to start the
vehicle without using the remote
control switch.
You are attempting to charge a 12V
battery whilst in 24V mode
REMEDES
Check the mains supply
Check that the device is in charge
mode
Check the fuses have not blown and
the circuit breaker is not depressed.
Check the state of the batttery with a
volt meter. If the voltage doesn't
reach 2.5V per cell instantaneously,
the battery could be sulphated or
damaged.
Check that the voltage switch is in the
appropriate position (12 or 24V)
Wait for the unit to cool down before
retrying (approx 5 - 10 mins)
Change the battery or try to recover it
on manual charge by turning the
control to maximum - switch back to
automatic mode as soon as the
current starts to rise.
Set the Amperage control to 1/10 of
the battery capacity.
Maintain the charge by setting the unit
to minimum.
Check that the voltage switch is in the
appropriate position (12 or 24V)
Change battery
Ensure the switch is on « Start » mode
or you will damage the unit.
Reset the circuit breaker (except
Gystart 1224T)
You must push the remote control
button or you will damage the unit.
Reset the circuit breaker.
Turn the voltage switch to 12V.
