The vacuum cleaner is suitable for vacuuming and extracting
the following materials:
– Fine dusts below the general dust limit value of 3 mg/m
– Dusts of mineral materials with aluminium hydroxide
– Graphite dusts
– Aluminium dusts
– Paper dusts
– Soot dusts
– Powder-paint dusts

The vacuum cleaner may generally not be used in rooms
where the danger of an explosion exists.
Maintenance and Service
Maintenance and Cleaning
Before any work on the vacuum cleaner itself, pull the
mains plug.
For safe and proper working, always keep the vacuum
cleaner and ventilation slots clean.
If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has to
be done by Bosch or an authorized Bosch service agent in or-
der to avoid a safety hazard.
If the vacuum cleaner should fail despite the care taken in
manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should be car-
ried out by an after-sales service centre for Bosch power
tools.
In all correspondence and spare parts order, please always in-
clude the 10-digit article number given on the type plate of
the machine.
Removing/Replacing the Folded Filter (see figure C)
Replace a damaged folded filter 17 immediately.
– With a coin or similar, rotate the lock 6 by 1/4 turn in the
direction of the arrow and push the lock in.
– Fold up the vacuum lid 3 and hold it. Grasp the folded filter
17 by the fins, pull up and remove.
– Clean the folded filter 17.
– Insert new or cleaned folded filter 17 and ensure firm seat-
ing.
– Fold the vacuum lid 3 down again. With slight pressure
from above on the cover, the lock 6 will snap back again.
Container
Wipe out the container 9 from time to time with a commercial-
ly available, non-scouring cleaning agent and allow to dry.
Motor Protection Filter (see figure C)
The motor protection filter 18 is basically maintenance- free.
Take out the motor protection filter from time to time and
flush it with clear water. Allow the motor protection filter to
dry thoroughly before reinserting.

Level Sensors
3
19
Clean the level sensors 19 occasionally.
Unlock the latches 11 and remove the vacuum lid 3.
Clean the level sensors 19 with a soft cloth.
Reattach the vacuum lid 3 again and lock the latches 11.
Malfunctions
In the case of insufficient vacuuming performance, check the
following:
– Is the vacuum lid 3 attached properly?
– Is the hose system clogged?
– Are the extension tubes connected firmly?
– Is the container 9 full?
– Is the dust bag 16 full?
– Is the folded filter 17 clogged with dust?
Emptying at regular intervals ensures optimum vacuuming
performance.
If the vacuuming performance is not achieved thereafter, take
the vacuum cleaner to customer service.
