2) Depressed the bead breaker pedal (3, Fig. G) and hold it down so that the rod
of the bead breaker cylinder (22, Fig. D2) retracts completely.
3) Remove the bracket (23, Fig. D2).
4) Release the bead breaker pedal (3, Fig. G) so that the rod of the bead breaker
cylinder (22, Fig. D3) extends completely.
5) Fit the cylinder rod into the slot provided on the bead breaker arm (24, Fig.
D3).
6) Fit the bead breaker arm (24, Fig. D3) into the slots on the machine body.
7) Fit the pin (25, Fig. D3) on to the arm and fix it using the 2 screws (26, Fig.
D3).
8) Secure the rod of the cylinder (22, Fig. D3) using the lock-nut (27, Fig. D3).
N.B.: Tighten until the threaded part projects from the lock-nut by about 10 mm.
(see Fig. D4).
N.B.: Tightening down or backing off the lock-nut varies the minimum gap between
the bead breaker blade and the tyre rest.
WARNING: To avoid crushing the tyre beads, the gap between the blade and the
rest must be at least 40 mm.
9) With the aid of narrow-tip pliers, connect the spring (28, Fig. D3) to the bead
breaker arm (see Fig. D5).
FITTING THE BLADE
1) Remove the bolt (29, Fig. E1) and the lock-nut (30, Fig. E1) from the bead
breaker blade, taking care to keep the two shim washers (31, Fig. E1) in place.
2) Fit the blade on the bead breaker arm (see Fig. E1) taking the greatest care to
ensure that the two shim washers are correctly positioned.
3) Fix the blade to the arm using the nut removed earlier and the lock-nut (see
Fig. E1).
HEXAGONAL ARM SPRING INSTALLATION
1) By hand, move the hexagonal arm to the limit (fully up) position, then use the
pneumatic push-button control (9 Fig. G) to lock it in this position.
2) Use a size 6 spanner to undo the screw which fixes the knob (1, Fig. F1).
3) Fit the spring onto the hexagonal post.
4) Press the spring down by hand to allow the knob to be put back onto the rod.
5) Keeping the knob lightly pressed down, fix it by fully tightening the screw
removed earlier (see Fig. F2).
6) Release the hexagonal arm
