3. Applications
The Grundfos MTB single-stage end-suction pumps
are designed specifically for the transfer of liquids
containing solid particles. The pumps are suitable for
industrial machine tool applications such as:
• machining centres
• cooling systems
• grinding machines
• lathes
• parts cleaning systems.

5. Pumped liquids
The MTB pump is capable of pumping liquids with
particles up to 20 mm in size and a weight percent-
age of up to 1.5 wt%.
When pumping abrasive particles, a reduced life of
pump parts can be expected.
Warning
The pump must not be used for the
pumping of inflammable liquids such as
diesel fuel, petrol or similar liquids.
The liquid must not attack the pump materials chem-
ically.
The pumping of liquids with densities or kinematic
viscosities higher than those of water will cause a
drop in the hydraulic performance and an increase in
power consumption.
If in doubt, contact Grundfos.
