HAZARDS ASSESSMENT

In order to select appropriate eye and face protecting devices, a hazard and risk analysis shall be carried out by well-
trained experts and the eye, face and/or head protector never shall be used in environments with a higher risk rating than
the protection rating indicated on the marking. According to this Hazard Risk Assessment, the AFP-25 Helmet Mounted
Arc Flash Faceshield shall be combined with further arc flash protective PPE such as helmets, garments, gloves, etc.
Inappropriate usage, e.g. at higher arc exposures, may cause severe damages to the life and health of the user.

WHAT FACTORS SHOULD WE TAKE INTO ACCOUNT FROM THE
POINT OF VIEW OF SAFETY FOR THE CHOICE / USE OF PPE?
Protection of the face and portions of the head worn with equally
rated helmets, balaclava, shirt, pants, gloves and boots
Resistance to scratching
Level of heat exposure from an arc flash, small splash of molten metal
(copper, iron or projected) from an arc flash
High visibility attachments on clothing, retro reflection, increased
lighting in work areas
Select the correct face-shield according to the energy of the possible
projected particles
Select the correct filter for the related use. Do not look directly to the
luminous source
