9. Light Kit Assembly (Optional).
Remove 4 screws from outer edge of switch housing
plate (save screws for later use) and remove switch
housing from switch housing plate.
Remove 1 screw from fitter plate on underside of motor
and loosen the other 2 screws. Align slotted holes in
switch housing plate with loosened screws in fitter
plate, allowing male plug from motor to come through
hole in switch housing plate, and push up. Twist switch
housing plate to lock. Re-insert screw that was just
removed and secure all screws. (diagram a)
If you do NOT wish to use the light kit, connect male
plug from motor assembly to female plug from switch
housing, matching up the colors on the male plug with
the colors on the female plug for correct fit. Make sure
that plugs connect completely. Align holes in switch
housing with holes in switch housing plate. Re-insert
the 4 screws that were previously removed and use a
Phillips screwdriver to secure all screws. (diagram b)
Continue to Section 10 to complete installation WITHOUT
light kit.
If you wish to USE the light kit, locate BLUE (or BLACK)
and WHITE wires in switch housing labeled FOR LIGHT
and remove plastic from these 2 wires. Punch center cap
out of switch housing with a screwdriver. Remove hex
nut and lock washer from threaded rod at top of light
kit fitter. Remove finial, finial plate and rubber washer
from threaded rod at bottom of light kit fitter. Save hex
nut, lock washer, finial, finial plate and rubber washer for
later use. (diagram c)
Gently feed wires from light kit fitter (one by one)
through center hole in switch housing. Screw switch
housing onto threaded rod at top of light kit fitter
followed by lock washer and hex nut. Tighten hex nut
over lock washer for a secure fit. (diagram c)
Connect WHITE wire from light kit fitter to WHITE wire
from switch housing. Connect BLACK wire from light kit
fitter to BLUE (or BLACK) wire from switch housing. Be
sure molex connections snap together securely.

Connect male plug from motor to female plug from
switch housing, matching up the colors on the male
plug with the colors on the female plug for correct fit.
Make sure that plugs connect completely. Align holes in
switch housing with holes in switch housing plate.
Re-insert the 4 screws that were previously removed
and use a Phillips screwdriver to secure all screws.
