Step 4
Before installing the new radial seal carrier, check the
orientation of the bore in the timing ring, aligning it with
the OT mark on the radial seal carrier.
The plastic clip (arrow) keeps the ring in the correct
position. The plastic clip must be removed.
Note: The control ring must not be removed from the
radial seal carrier or rotated. The guide bore 1 on the
control ring 3 must be aligned with the TDC marking 2.
Step 5
Place the radial seal carrier face down on a clean, level
surface. Press the sealing lip support ring A downwards
in the direction of the arrows until it lies on the flat
surface.
The top edge of the control ring and the leading edge of
the radial seal carrier (arrows) must be aligned.
Step 6
Place the radial seal carrier with the front side on the
installation tool.
Make sure that the guide pin B is inserted into the hole on
the control ring A.
Note: Make sure that the radial sealing ring carrier lies
completely on the installation tool.
