Caution: it is not possible to interconnect several smoke detectors toghether, and
associate them with the gateway at the same time. You have to choose on between
interconnection or connectivity with the gateway for remote control.
Interconnection for two or more smoke detectors.
For convenience, it is advisable to combine the detectors together before installing them.
The interconnection distance is ≥ 100m in free field, free field implies open space without
any physical obstacle. When installed in buildings, the range is reduced by the structure:
wall, partitions, doors, furniture, etc. If the interconnection does not work properly, we
recommend that you adjust the position of the detectors between them and to bring
them together. You can interconnect a maximum of 200 detectors within the interconnect
distance range.
The association procedure between the detectors (points b to d below) must be
completed in less than a minute, otherwise the detectors will revert to normal operating
mode, without having been interconnected.
a. Lock all the detectors on their respective bases, by turning in the closing direction
indicated on each product, to put them all into operation.
b. Press the «LEARN»button of each detector only once, so that , on all detectors, the
indicator next to this button lights up red.
c. Select a «master» smoke detector, press the «LEARN» button a second time, so that the
indicator next to this button is lit green.
d. Press the «TEST» button on the «master» detector and hold it down for a few seconds
until its alarm is triggered. The indicator located next to the «LEARN» button will flash red.
It will send a signal to all other detectors.
The alarms of the other detectors will go off and their indicators, located next to the
«LEARN» button, will flash red.
This means that the detectors are correctly interconnected.
e. To remove the pairing, long press the «LEARN» button on the smoke detector for about
5 seconds until the green lights flash and the operation is complete.
Connection of the smoke detector to the gateway and the
OtioHome mobile App
This operation requires that you first have an OtioHome gateway (ref 751 170, sold
separately), have installed the «OtioHome» mobile application on your compatible
smartphone, and have created an account on this mobile application and have installed
the gateway.
For convenience, it is strongly recommended to associate the detector with the gateway
before installing it.
If several detectors are to be connected, they must be associated independently with the gateway.
