- Make sure that the detector is located in places where the ambient temperature is not
lower than 4 ° C nor exceeding 38 ° C which could affect its correct functioning.
- Dust or insects can build up a deposit in front of the detection chamber which will alter
its operation, which is why it is important to regularly vacuum the surface of the detector
(see MAINTENANCE).
- Air conditioners, heaters and fans may prevent the detector from functioning properly,
keep the detector away from these sources.
- Fluorescent tube luminaires emit electronic pollution which can affect the correct
functioning of the detector and cause unwanted tripping, keep the detector away from
this type of luminaire.
Assembly & Use
CAUTION !
Under normal conditions of use, replace the smoke detector after 10 years of use.
Installation steps
• Remove the detector base by turning it in the opening direction indicated on the
product.
• Place the base of the detector on the ceiling and mark with a pencil the location of
the 2 fixing screws.
• Drill the 2 holes: diameter 5 mm (protect the detector from drilling dust).
• Insert the wall plugs into the holes, then screw the base to the wall using the screws
provided.
• Write the date of installation on the back of the product, in the space provided for
this purpose.
• Install the detector on its base, aligning the two retaining clips and the locator face
to their respective holes. Lock the detector on its base by turning in the closing direction
indicated on the product.
• Test your detector: press and hold the"TEST" button for a few seconds. The indicator
light, next to the "LEARN" button, should quickly flash red and the audible alarm should
sound which means the detector is functioning properly.
The detector then goes into hush mode, the indicator light, next to the "TEST" button,
flashes briefly approximately every 10 seconds. After approximately 9 minutes, the
detector will automatically revert to normal detection mode. You can also press the "TEST"
button again to immediately switch the detector to normal detection mode.
Low or erratic sound volume may indicate that the detector is defective.
• Check that the detector is properly attached.
