DC 12 V Socket

The 12 V adapter cable included in the product package is to be
connected to this socket. Depending upon the position of the flip-switch
("On / ADSL Test" ↔ "Off / Line Test"), either the batteries will be
charged (when the device is switched "off") or the DSL-Tester is
supplied with external current (when the device is turned "on"), whereby
the batteries are then preserved in this mode with maintenance
charging
In order to avoid having to use the switch and continually restarting the
battery-quick-charge feature of the device when it is plugged into the
mains electrical supply, the battery-charger only activates if the switch is
in the "Off / Line Test" position for at least 10 seconds, followed by
plugging the electrical supply cable into the DC socket. In this case, the
yellow "Charge" LED indicator on top of the housing should light up.
Possible combinations of switch-positions and connections to an
external electrical supply are summarized in the following table.
