HORIZONTAL ADJUSTMENT OF
THE HEADLIGHT BEAM

Open the glove compartment and
remove the battery cover, see page 60
(REMOVING THE BATTERY COVER).

Insert a screwdriver at the position
highlighted in the figure and ensure it
locates correctly into the head of the
headlight adjusting screw.
Adjust beam as follows:
◆
Turn CLOCKWISE to move the beam to
t h e L E F T ( a s v i e w e d f r o m r i d i n g
position). Rotate ANTICLOCKWISE to
move the beam to the RIGHT (as viewed
from riding position).

Before proceeding to change a bulb,
rotate the ignition switch to "
allow some time for the bulb to cool
down.

Wear clean gloves or use a clean, dry
cloth to handle bulbs. Do not put your
fingerprints on a bulb, as this may
cause overheating leading to failure.
If you touch a bulb with your fingers,
remove any fingerprints with alcohol to
avoid early failure.
DO NOT PULL ON THE WIRING.

Read paragraph (BULBS) at the side
carefully.
NOTE
The indicator bulbs may be
removed without disturbing or removing
the indicator lens or reflector.
To replace the bulbs:

Remove the front cover, see page 56
(REMOVING THE FRONT COVER).
CAUTION
Proceed with care.
Do not damage the tabs and their seats.

Working from the rear of the indicator,
press the two tabs of the bulb holder.
◆
Extract the bulb from its seat.
NOTE
Insert the bulb into the bulb
holder matching the two locating pegs with
their guides in the bulb holder.
◆
Fit a new bulb of equal rating. Ensure it
is positioned correctly.
◆
Reverse removal procedure to install the
bulb
