9. ENVIRONMENTAL GUIDELINES AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Schulz Compressres S.A. has a commitment with the environment and is concerned with the final
destination of its products and components. Help us keep this commitment!
1. Wastewater Disposal
The presence of untreated wastewater into rivers, lakes or other water receiving bodies may adversely affect
marine life and water quality.
Schulz Compressores S.A. recommends correct treatment of wastewater through processes that ensure envi-
ronmental protection and healthy quality of life in compliance with the regulatory requirements of the current
legislation.
2. Disposal of Solid Waste (large parts and product packaging)
The generation of solid waste is one aspect that must be considered by the user, in the use and the maintenance
of the equipment. The impacts caused in the environment may cause significant changes in the soil quality, water
quality in surface and subsoil and the health of the population, through improper waste disposal (on streets,
water receiving bodies, landfills or plots, etc). Schulz Compressores S.A. recommends the management of the
waste derived from the product from its generation, handling, and treatment to its final disposal. A suitable
management should consider the following stages: quantification, qualification, classification, source reduction,
collection and selective collection, recycling, storage, transportation treatment and final destination. Waste
disposal should be done in compliance to regulatory requirements of current legislation.
3. Battery
Schulz batteries are rechargeable and may be reused several times. At the end of its useful life, it

must be disposed properly according to the directions below:
- Fully discharge the battery;
- Send the battery to a collection station specific for this kind of waste. If this service is not available in your
city, send the battery to a Schulz dealer, or call Customer Service in order to obtain further information on how
to properly dispose the batteries.
Batteries (rechargeable or not) contain chemicals that are harmful to the environment. When a battery is not
properly disposed, those chemicals may leak and contaminate the soil, water or air.
Other components and package.
This product contains other recyclable components, thus they cannot be disposed of in common domestic gar-
bage.
- Send this product and its components to selective garbage collection.
