Filtered water is always available du-
ring flushing. Dirt particles cannot enter the pi-
pework.
Although the nipple for drain water connection
was designed so that water jets are avoided,
we recommend to cover the discharge ope-
nings with a cloth or similar during flushing.
Once the filter has been flushed,
the cloth (or any other protection against
water jets) must be removed without fail
in order to prevent the formation of
germs and thus a bacterial contamina-
tion of the potable water!
9. Replacement
of filter insert
In general, the filter insert in a backflush filter is
maintenance free but a replacement may be-
come necessary if it has been damaged or af-
ter a very long service life.
The filter insert is replaced as follows:
• Close the isolating valves in front of and be-
hind the water filter.
• Unscrew the draining nipple at the bottom of
the filter. Remove the drain water connection
first if necessary.
• Open the handwheel completely for flushing
(about 6-8 complete turns to the left) and let
the residual water escape from the filter.
• Unscrew the filter cup using the special key
(Oventrop item no. 6124200) or a ring span-
ner (size 70) at the octagonal section of the
filter cup.
• Loosen fillister head on the handwheel and
remove the latter by pulling it upwards.
Installation and operating instructions
"Aquanova Compact R" PN16
• Pull stem and backflush arm downwards.
• Unscrew filter insert.
• Mount new filter insert (Oventrop item no.
6205100) with due consideration of the enc-
losed installation advice and hand tighten up
to the collar.
• Mount stem again.
Care should be taken that the O-
rings on the stem are well greased with a
greasing agent which is suitable for potable
water.
• Fix handwheel.
• Flush filter cup thoroughly with clear water
under hygienic conditions!
Detergents containing alcohol and
solvents must not be used as they may cause
damage to the filter cup and the ring gasket!
• Please ensure correct positioning of the O-
ring and hand tighten filter cup up to the
collar stop. If required, also grease the ring
gasket with greasing agent which is suitable
for potable water.
• Turn handwheel to the right until stop.
• Flush filter after installation of the draining
nipple and the drain water connection by
opening the isolating valves and carry out
leakage test.
