EN - Front mud flaps
The front mud flaps are fitted as shown in the figures.
Please note: The vehicle must be completely clean before the
component can be fitted.
The instructions describe the procedure for fitting the front mud
flap on the right-hand side of the vehicle.
The procedure for fitting the front mud flap to the left-hand side of
the vehicle is exactly the same.
Fig. 2 – Place the vehicle on the arms of the workshop lifting platform and raise it
accordingly, then remove the two screws from the wheel arch (see arrows).
Fig. 3 – Use a suitable felt-tip pen to draw a line indicating the part of the plastic
wheel-arch lining that is to be cut off in accordance with the dimensions in the fig-
ure. Then use a suitable tool (e.g. knife) to cut off the marked section (see arrow).
The marked section of the plastic wheel-arch lining must be removed in order to
correctly position the front mud flap.
Please note: The exact dimensions as shown in the figure must be
observed.
Fig. 4 – Position the front mud flap on the vehicle such that the tabs fit onto the
bottom beam. Start by screwing in the two screws at the side. Tighten the screws
to 2 Nm. Next, drill a hole with a diameter of 7 mm. Insert a retaining clip into this
newly drilled hole.
Fig. 5 – In the lower section of the front mud flap, fit a retaining clamp (see arrow)
in the correct position such that, when the screw is tightened, the clamp cannot
slip outside the tabs on the mud flap. Carefully tighten the screw, checking the
position of the retaining clamp as you do so.
Due to the type of work that needs to be carried out in the area around the
wheel arches, which requires certain machinery, we recommend having the
mud flaps fitted by an authorised ŠKODA AUTO service partner.
