• Please note that hazardous situations can arise when the
backpressure valve has not yet been set in the system and
the shut-off elements are opened or the system is started
up! Take the necessary precautions!

Setting instructions

CAUTION
• The backpressure valve must be set under the same
operating conditions as it will be subsequently used!
Never set the valve on a test rig and then install it in a
system! (Also observe the viscosity of the metered medium!)
A pressure gauge must be installed in the piping system in order to
be able to set the pressure exactly (see "Installation examples").
Detach protective cap (11) (see Fig. 3).
Release (until easy to turn) pressure adjusting screw (13) to
relieve the pressure.
Open the shut-off elements in the pressure line.
Switch on the metering pump.
Set the required operating pressure by screwing in pressure
adjusting screw (13) (read off setting pressure at pressure
gauge).
Secure pressure adjusting screw (13) by tightening lock nut (14).
Check for a short time whether the adjusted operating pressure
remains constant and whether the screwed connections at the
plant do not leak.
