8. Install the electronics unit on the cover, as
shown in Figure 7a. At the same time make sure
the electronics unit fully rests on the surface of
the cover.
Rotate the electronics unit, as shown in Figure
7a. The supports on the electronics unit must
match the notches on the cover (Figure 7b).
Make sure the electronics unit is tight against
the cover.
NOTICE! Before using the J.SHMIDT 500, it is
recommended to charge the battery.
9. Press the button
will start, the LEDs FILTER and BATTERY will
start flashing in a synchronous mode (short
signals). After a few seconds, water filtration
will start.
IMPORTANT! If there is no water in the funnel,
the compressor will not start.
If necessary, the filtration process may be
stopped by briefly pressing the button
10. When all water in the funnel has been purified,
the compressor of the system will shut off*. The
maximum permitted duration of continuous
operation of the J.SHMIDT 500 is 4 min. If after
the end of this period water remains in the fun-
nel, press the button
IMPORTANT! The operating pressure inside the
system J.SHMIDT 500 can reach 0.7 bar (10 psi).
When removing the electronics units from the
case of the jug during the filtration process, a
popping sound can occur.
11. A new cartridge requires a mixture of absorb-
ers to be prepared for operation. Before using
a new cartridge for the first time, filter and pour
out a volume of water equivalent to that of
three funnels.
12. To filter the next portion of water, pour the puri-
fied water from the jug into another container.
IMPORTANT! If you do not pour out the pu-
rified water from the jug, the new portion of
water may not fit in the existing volume and
overflow.
* Turning off the compressor of the system is accompanied
by the sound of exhaust air, which normal is and not any
indication of any fault or of a malfunctioning system.
