Setting up and initial operation

Only suitable forklift trucks must be used. The centre of gravity of the load is to be determined and it must be

ensured, using the loading diagram for the forklift truck, that the load can be lifted safely. The forks must be at
least as long as the fork pockets of the drum gripper. Place the drum gripper in front of the forklift truck and
adjust the distance between the forks so it matches the forklift pockets.
Take up the drum gripper with the forklift truck.

Tighten the locking bolt by hand on with the aid of a tool. The drum gripper must be secured with a safety
-
chain to the forklift truck. Check regularly that the locking bolt has not become loose.


The drum gripper must only be used by trained persons.

Before setting up, the condition and operational reliability of the drum gripper must be checked.

The drums to be transported must be dry and free of any oil or grease.
