enclosed leaflet.

- Make sure that the barbecue is placed on a stable, flat level
surface, well away from any combustible material.
- WARNING! Do not use alcohol or petrol to light or rekindle the
GB
fire.
- WARNING! Do not use indoors!
- If it is very windy, place the barbecue in such a way as to pre-
vent the wind from blowing up sparks.
- Never move the appliance when it is hot or in use.
- WARNING! This barbecue will become very hot, do not move
it during operation.
- Use charcoal that complies with the NF B55-101 standard.
- Wear gloves when cooking.
- This barbecue complies with the standard NF EN 1860-1.
However, when using it, a certain amount of supervision and
caution is necessary.
- In particular, do not use alcohol or petrol to light or rekindle the
barbecue. Do not let children come close to the heat source.
- There are a high number of accidents reported every year and
burns caused to children are particularly serious as their faces
tend to be at the same level as the fire. WARNING! Do not leave
the barbecue within reach of children and household pets.
- For the models AZZURO, AZZURO EXTRA, AZZURO PLUS,
FAMILIO and FAMILIO EXTRA, make sure that the base of
the bowl is securely in place before use. DO NOT handle the
base of the bowl while the barbecue is in use.
3) ADVICE ON USE
- Spread the charcoal out evenly in the hearth and do not over-
fill the bowl (maximum 50%).
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
1) Make sure that the trap door (A) is closed; if not pull the lever
(B), turning the point forwards and push it back into the loc-
ked position.
2) Raise the lid (C) (wear gloves & use the tool provided if the
barbecue is already in use), fill the lighting chamber with
charcoal and close the lid.
3) Place paper and small pieces of wood (e.g. old fruit trays) )
n the bottom of the bowl, below the lower grill of the lighting
chamber. Spread out evenly below the lighting chamber. If
using barbecue lighters, insert 2 or 3 tablets in the lower grill
of the lighting chamber.
4) Light the paper or barbecue lighters with a lighter or match
at several points so that the fire is spread over the whole sur-
face.
5) When there are no more live flames and the charcoal has
started to glow:
- Open the trap door by pulling the lever (B), make it pivot
with the point facing downwards and lower the glowing
charcoal into the bowl.
- Spread the charcoal over the whole base of the bowl using
the tool provided, being careful not to let any embers fall
out of the bowl.
This tool can also be used to pick up the grill holding the
charcoal (through 2 holes) and to tip it over and empty the
residue into the ash tray.
- Close the trap door

- The easiest way to light the charcoal in models without gas
ignition is to use barbecue lighters complying with standard
EN 1860-3 which are readily available in the marketplace and
totally danger-free.
- If the appliance has an anti-flare grid (this grid is also availa-
ble as an accessory), fix it to the cooking grill, put charcoal
into the hearth, then install the cooking grill/anti-flare grid unit.
- Wait for a layer of ash to cover the charcoal before starting to
cook.
- Wait at least thirty minutes before starting to cook. (Do not
cook before the charcoal has a coating of ash.)
- If the appliance has a fan, turn it on as soon as the charcoal
starts to glow (the motor runs on two 1.5 volt batteries, refe-
rence R20, not supplied).
Recommandation: The barbecue shall be heated up and the
fuel kept red hot at least 30 min prior to the first cooking on the
barbecue.
4) USING THE SPIT
- Use the Campingaz® spits, sold as accessories
- Remove the cooking grill
- When using the spit in the AZZURO, AZZURO EXTRA and
AZZURO PLUS models, the charcoal must be placed in the
vertical container. This prevents the fat that falls into the
hearth during cooking from flaring up.
5) CLEANING
- After use and once the ashes are cold, take out the remova-
ble ash drawer and throw the ashes away.
- Clean the cooking grill and anti-flare grid (where supplied)
with water and washing-up liquid. Dry and put back onto the
barbecue for future use.
- Store the barbecue in a dry and well ventilated place (if there
is a gas cartridge, remove it).
