EARTHING AND SHORT-CIRCUIT EQUIPMENT FOR MEDIUM VOLTAGE OVERHEAD
LINES ACCORDING TO UNE-EN 61230
COMPOSITION
4 PCA-25 aluminium alloy clamps with automatic activation fastening and final mechanical fixing for cylindrical
conductors with diameter between 6 and 25 mm.
1 clamp dispenser head with recovery hook.
2 copper cables with PVC insulation of 16/25/35 mm² section (depending on model) and 2,5 m long.
1 copper cable with PVC insulation of 16/16/25 mm² section (depending on model) and 15 m long.
1 metallic spool to store the 15 m of earthing cable.
1 telescopic pole (1,15 m folded and 2 m extended).
1 earthing rod.
1 plastic case to store and transport the equipment.
1 bag to store and transport the pole and the earthing rod.
Composition according to customer specification. (see attached sheet)
CHARACTERISTICS
Short-circuit current "Icc": See table.
Temperature range: -25°C a 55°C.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Extend the pole to its maximum length and fix it.
2. Place the clamp holder base on the pole.
3. Turn the fixing ring for the 3 clamps to its maximum opening. Place the 3 clamps in the clamp holder base.
4. Drive in the earthing rod and mount the spool on it with a maximum torque of 10 Nm or tighten it firmly to prevent
it coming loose.
5. Place the first clamp on the conductor and separate it from the clamp holder base by pulling backwards.
6. Repeat this process for the other 2 clamps.
7. Fix the 3 clamps to their respective conductors by means of the fixing ring thread.
8. To uninstall, loosen the fixing ring for the 3 clamps and remove them by means of the clamp holder base hook.
9. Rewind the cable onto the spool, pull the earthing rod out of the ground and store the equipment in its case.
MANTENANCE AND CONSERVATION
Storage:
In order to maintain its ability to protect workers, earthing and short-circuit equipment must be mantained and
stored in good conditions by user.
Check before use:
For safety equipment grounding must be subjected to a thorough visual inspection before use. Visible damage of
clamps, fittings, wire insulation or exposure of bare wire are considered major defects and the equipment should
be put out of use.
Before use must inspect the contact surface parts and the contact of the connection points should be brushed to
remove any remaining tank to obtain a good electrical contact for traffic flows or short-circuit currents.
Periodic inspection and testing service:
The equipment must be inspected every 3 years, verifying that there are no visible damage tweezers, or cable
connections.
If there is any doubt about the excellent condition of the device or equipment, should be removed.
