1 Use a clean soft cloth to gently wipe
off any dirt or fingerprints from the
instrument.
Occasionally you may want to soak

the mouthpiece in warm soapy
water. Use a brass mouthpiece
brush to scrub inside and outside
the mouthpiece, rinse thoroughly
with clean warm water.
3 Periodically, you will need to oil your
valves when they start to get slow
and sluggish. To do this, carefully
remove the top valve cap which will
allow the valve to be pulled partially
out of its casing. Apply a few drops
of valve oil to your valve and replace
it. This process may need to be
done more frequently when your
trumpet is new.
