Before mounting an accessory, after any tool repair

or whenever a Tire Buffer is issued for use, check
free speed of the Tire Buffer with a tachometer to
make certain its actual speed at 90 psig (6.2
bar/620 kPa) does not exceed rpm stamped or
printed on the nameplate. Tire Buffers in use on
the job must be similarly checked at least once
each shift.
Model 327LS Geared Tire Buffers have a free

speed of 3,000 rpm when operated at 90 psig (6.2
bar/620 kPa) air pressure. Operation at higher air
pressure will result in excessive speed.
After mounting a new accessory, hold the Tire
•
Buffer under a steel workbench or inside the tire
and run for at least 60 seconds. Make certain no
one is within the operating plane of the accessory.

When mounting a new accessory, operate the tool

balance of the accessory. If there is excessive
vibration, do not use the accessory.
