Maintenance and care
Please refer to the enclosed brochure for information and advice regarding aquarium care.
For information on the maintenance of additional appliances such as filters, heaters and air pumps
please refer to the appliance operating manuals.
Replacement of the lighting unit
The light source contained in this luminaire shall only be replaced by the manufacturer or his ser-
vice agent or similar qualified person. The lighting unit can be obtained as a spare part from the Tetra
Service Centre at www.tetra-service.net.
WARNING Danger to life due to electric shock!
•
Risk of electric shock if the lighting unit falls into the water!
•
Always disconnect the power plug of the lighting unit before starting work.
Please proceed as follows:

1. Open the aquarium hood.

We recommend covering the aquarium with, e.g. a sturdy piece of cardboard, to prevent any parts
falling into the water.
2. Pull the power cable of the lighting unit through the opening of the rear flap.
3. Undo and remove the eight external screws of the lighting unit.

Only use a manual screwdriver - do not use a power tool.

Support the hood while removing the screws to avoid damaging the hood.
4. Repeat the process in the reverse order to fit the new lighting unit.

Hand-tighten the screws.
5. Connect the power plug.
Cleaning the lighting unit

Only use a soft cloth for cleaning in order to avoid scratches.
•
Only use cleaning agents that are specifically recommended for aquariums.
Cleaning the aquarium glass
•
When cleaning the aquarium glass, take care not to damage the seals on the inside corners with
sharp objects (e.g. razor blades).
•
