Using the product

The waterjet and electrosurgical current are activated alternate-
ly using different footswitches (ERBEJET 2 footswitch and VIO
footswitch).
The electrode needle of the HybridKnife can be retracted and ex-
tended in several stages. The slide switch on the handle is used
to do so. The slide switch noticeably engages at each stage:
• Slide switch in rear (proximal) end position = the electrode
needle is fully retracted
• Slide switch in front (distal) end position = the electrode nee-
dle is fully extended, approx. 4.5 mm
Biological material on the instrument tip can block up the water
jet nozzle of the HybridKnife. Regularly and frequently activating
the water jet helps to keep the nozzle free of deposits and sig-
nificantly reduces blockages.

lation applicable in each case.
