for the Würth Moisture Tester
Art. 0715 53 180
The Würth moisture tester serves to measure the
moisture content in sawn timber, plaster and
screed, and in some circumstances cardboard
and paper. It gives a direct reading of the
moisture content. The instrument has an
average calibration for European timbers
(group 4 wood) and relates this to a normal
wood temperature of +20°C.
Application:
1.
Remove the protective cap from the grip
side. The instrument switches on auto-
matically.
2.
Press the measuring electrode into the
material as far as desired. Always measure
wood moisture across the grain. Repeated
measurement will give representative
values.
3.
The exact measured value is shown in the
form of a bars:
continuous line = even values,
e.g. 6, 8, 14
dashed line = uneven values,
e.g. 7, 11
Measurement incorrect due to
static charge
Overrun, measurement >44%
(for timber)
Please note: growth- or specific timber proper-
ties as well as differing timber temperatures
may cause deviations in the indicated values.
4.
Measuring with contact cap –
non-destructive
Fit the contact cap from side B onto side A.
Press the contact cap lightly on the materi-
al to be measured and read off the value
indicated.
5.
After completing the measurements, fit the
protective cap back on side A, and the
instrument will switch off.
6.
Always store the instrument in a dry place.
Avoid soiling between the measuring tips.
7.
Battery check:
connect electrodes with contacts B on the
protective cap
– reference display >44% (for timber) –
display must flash
Function check:
connect electrodes with contacts T on the
protective cap
– reference display 27 ±2% (for timber).
8.
To change electrodes:
open the back of the instrument by the
three screws, lift off the lid, loosen all
3 screws on the circuit board, and change
the electrodes.
9.
To change batteries:
open the back of the instrument by the
three screws, lift off the lid, exchange the
battery TYPE Cr 2032. Ensure correct
polarity!
10. Service:
In case of a malfunction, please return the
instrument to us.
