When tightening the screw for chain tension, be
careful not to allow the tension hook (2/2) slip
out of the hole (3/2) in the guide bar
5.
Install the chain wheel cover. Tighten nuts (1/2)
hand-tight only.
3.1.3
Saw Chain Tension Adjustment
1.
To make sure, rotate the saw chain by hand so that
the chain fits the sprocket and the guide bar.
2.
Lift up the guide bar at the reversible star and turn
adjustment screw clockwise until the saw chain
edges the lower part of the bar.
3.
Tighten the bar retaining nuts (1/2) properly.
The saw chain has proper tension when it can
be lifted for ca 3 – 4 mm above the middle of the
guide bar and when it can be pulled around by
gloved hand.

Guide Bar Assembly
1.
Release chain brake. Pull the chain brake lever (6/1)
to the front handle.

Undo the clamping nut (6/2) of the chain wheel
cover in the direction of the arrow and remove the
cover.
1.
Turn the chain tensioning disk (7/4) on the loosened
guide bar (7/3) all the way to the right.
2.
Set the guide bar (7/3) onto the threaded stud (7/1)
and the guide pin (7/2).
3.
Turn the chain tensioning disk (7/4) to the left as far
as possible. This slides the guide rail in the direction
of the chain wheel.
3.2.2
Saw Chain Assembly
1.
Slip the chain around the sprocket (8/1) and into the
groove on the guide bar.
2.
Guide the saw chain around the reversible star con-
currently pull the saw chain slightly in the direction
of the arrow.
3.
Guide the chain over the chain catcher (8/2). The
saw chain may droop slightly on the lower part of
the bar.
4.
Install the chain wheel cover and lightly tighten the
clamping nut (6/2).
3.2.3
Saw Chain Tension Adjustment
1.
To make sure, rotate the saw chain by hand so that
the chain fits the sprocket and the guide bar.
2.
Turn the red tensioning ring (9/2) to the right. This
increases the tension of the chain.
The saw chain has proper tension when it can
be lifted for ca 3 – 4 mm above the middle of the
guide bar and when it can be pulled around by
gloved hand.
3.
Firmly tighten the clamping nut (9/1).
