─ Always secure the load with lashing straps
or the like. If the load is long, secure it also
in the front and rear. Always remove the
load carrier when driving through a car
wash.
NOTE
Make sure that all bolts, nuts, retaining
straps and lashing straps are properly
tightened before starting off. Also check
them regularly during the trip. Replace any
damaged retaining strap or lashing strap.
Do not load the roof heavier than the max.
roof load indicated in the vehicle Owner's
Manual. Bear in mind that the car's center
of gravity and thereby the driving
characteristics will be altered by the load.
