Helmet adjustment
The helmet must be adjusted to the size of the user's head to ensure adequate
protection. Size range with Fas-Trac III harness: 52 cm to 63 cm.
When adjusted, the helmet must fit without tipping or shifting.
1. Push top crown strap towards top of helmet.
2. Place helmet on head and push down until a comfortable wearing height is reached.
3. To ensure that headband is compatible with head height and to get the preferred
upward vision (change of vision angle), adjust the helmet wearing height if necessary
by repositioning the headband clips within the suspensions as shown in Fig. 1.
4. When the helmet is on the head, adjust the horizontal position of the helmet by sliding
the headband clips along the headband to ensure the over spectacles correctly fit over
corrective spectacles that may be worn underneath. (see Fig. 2).
5. Turn knob counter-clockwise to open ratchet band to its maximum size. Turn knob
clockwise to tighten and fit (Fig. 3).
6. The helmet must be worn the peak facing forward.
Over spectacles adjustment
1. Position by pulling it up or down using the grip tabs with both hands (see Fig. 4).
2. Tilt the over spectacles towards the face for an optimal fit (see Fig. 5).
3. The over spectacles are delivered with a rubber seal fitted. If you prefer to use the
over spectacles without the seal, the impact performance will be derated to F/45 ms.
Care
Inspection
Before and after each use, inspect the shell, over spectacles, suspension and lining for
breakage, cracks, craze pattern, discoloration, chalky appearance, or any other unusual
condition.
If any of these conditions exist, replace the helmet immediately, as these conditions can
indicate that the helmet has lost its capacity to protect from impact, penetration, and/or
electrical shock.
Cleaning/Disinfection
Helmets and over spectacles must be cleaned regularly for easy inspection and to help
the wearer avoid skin irritation. Use water or water with a mild detergent and a soft cloth.
(Do not use harsh detergents, solvent based products or abrasive materials).
Storage/Transport
The helmet should be transported in sufficiently robust packaging to prevent accidental
damage to the shell or harness.Store in a proper storage bag and/or in a closed cabinet
to avoid extended exposure to sunlight, cold, humidity, exhaust fumes, etc. Store the
helmet in a MSA protective bag (GA90039). Store the over spectacles inside the helmet
(out of use position).
For EN 50365 class 0 helmets: Recommended storage temperature, uncompressed, in
a suitable container, prior to and between uses, is 20 ±15 °C, not adjacent to a source of
heat, to ensure performance.
End of Life Disposal
Discard in accordance with local regulations.
