Default number of lifts
Using the controller (11), you can preset the desired number of lifts
even in run.
1–2 low number of lifts
3–4 medium number of lifts
5–6 high number of lifts
Required number of lifts depends on the type of material, and can
be found out through a practical test. Sheet metal of maximum
thickness should be sheared using the 5–6 level.
After a longer work with low number of lifts leave the shears in idle
run for 1–3 mins at maximum number of lifts (level 6).
Swinging and replacement of knives
Pull the mobile supply plug out of the socket. Knives (6) and (7)
of a single‑shear type are interchangeable, not between the both
types though.
You can use four knife blades.
Swing the knife always by 90° to a new cutting edge. In case all four
edges get blunt, replace the knives for new ones.
Screw the bolt (9) of the respective knife out, swing the knife by
90° and tighten the bolt (9). Make sure the setscrew (8) descends
on the knife.
Adjustment of knives spacing
The spacing between knives (a) of machines deliv‑
ered is adjusted by the manufacturer.
EN 16 E: 0.2 mm
EN 25 E: 0.5 mm
For tough, fragile or thin surfaces we recommend the below values
to achieve an ideal quality of shear (cut)
Sheet metal
Sheet metal
strength
Thin, tough
0.3–0.6 mm
Fragile
0.8–1.2 mm
Fragile
1.3–1.6 mm
Fragile
1.7–2.0 mm
Release fixed knife (7) and use setscrew (8) to adjust the spacing
advised. Use feeler gauge to review the spacing. Tighten the fixed
knife with the bolt (9).
Knives must not touch, make sure there is a minimum
space between them!
Adjustment of knives height
Knives are adjusted by the manufacturer. If, in some cases, the
height of mobile knife needs to be adjusted, proceed as follows:
Push the pan (3) in the upper dead centre.
Screw the bolt (10) out and remove the shoe (4). Rotate the pan as
required to the right or left by one turn. Rotating to the left reduces
the spacing and right rotating increases it.
Screw the pan (3) out for fine adjustment, swing the connecting
hinge (5) by half turn to the right or left.
Screw the pan back in and fasten the shoe properly.
Most favourable quality of shear is achieved with 0–0.2 mm spac‑
ing.

Maintenance and service
Attention! Risk of el. shock. Prior to start any opera-
tion, pull the plug out of the socket!
Vent holes of the motor guard may not be covered.
Cable replacement must be carried out by a specialized service sta‑
tion authorized correspondingly.
100 hours of operation. Any brushes shorter than 5 mm should be
replaced for new ones.
After approx. 200 hours of operation you should exchange the lu‑
brication oil.
Attention! With respect to protection from el. shock
and preservation of the class of protection, all mainte-
nance and service operations requesting jig saw case
removal must be performed by the authorized service centre
only!
The current list of authorized service centres can be found at our
website www.narex.cz, section "Service Centres".
Storage
Packed appliance may be stored in dry, unheated storage place
with temperature not lower than ‑5 °C.
Unpacked appliance should be stored only in dry storage place
with temperature not lower than +5 °C with exclusion of all sudden
temperature changes.
Environmental protection
Power tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted for envi‑
ronmental‑friendly recy.
Only for EU countries:
Do not dispose of power tools into household waste!
According to the European Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electri‑
cal and electronic equipment and its incorporation into national
law, power tools that are no longer suitable for must be separately
collected and sent for recovery in an environmental‑friendly man‑
ner.
Warranty
Our equipment is under warranty for at least 12 months with re‑
gard to material or production faults in accordance with national
legislation. In the EU countries, the warranty period for exclusively
private use is 24 months (an invoice or delivery note is required as
proof of purchase).
Damage resulting from, in particular, normal wear and tear, over‑
loading, improper handling, or caused by the user or other dam‑
age caused by not following the operating instructions, or any
fault acknowledged at the time of purchase, is not covered by the
warranty.
Complaints will only be acknowledged if the equipment has not
been dismantled before being sent back to the suppliers or to an
authorised NAREX customer support workshop. Store the operat‑
ing instructions, safety notes, spare parts list and proof of purchase
in a safe place. In addition, the manufacturer's current warranty
conditions apply.
