Once in this position exert pressure on the carriage
handle towards the pipe until the die starts to
thread. When this occurs release the pressure on the
carriage handle since the system will automatically
open once the thread has been completed.
9. Once the thread has been completed, stop the
machine and remove the die head carriage.
10. Unlock the die head by pulling on the locking
dowel pin and raise it.
Open the front and rear chucks and remove the pipe.
Pipe Cutting
With the machine stopped:
1. Raise the die head and reamer out of the way and
set the pipe to the length to be cut according to
the instructions in "Positioning the pipe".
2. Open the pipe cutter wider than the diameter of
the pipe and lower it into its cutting position. It can
be adjusted by moving the carriage.
3. Tighten by turning the handle clockwise until the
cutter wheel firmly engages the pipe, (see figure),
start the machine, and turn the handle 1/4 of a
revolution for each revolution of the pipe being cut
until the pipe is completely cut.

Caution
If the cutter handle is turned too quickly, when the
cutter wheel cuts into pipe, it can distort the shape of
the pipe and cause the blade to break.
Reaming
1. With the machine stopped mount the pipe
according to the instructions. When reaming is
required, lift the cutter and the die head. Lower the
reamer arm ensuring that it is fixed in its housing in
the carriage.
2. Start up the machine and gently rotate the carriage
handle until it makes contact with the pipe.
3. Whilst rotating the carriage handle, exert pressure
until obtaining the desired reaming.
4. Once completed remove the carriage and raise the
reamer.
5. Remove the pipe.
