Thank you for placing your trust in a Bauerfeind product. In choosing the
CaligaLoc®, you have acquired a high-quality medical product.
Please read through all of these instructions for use carefully, because they
contain important information about the use, indications, contraindications,
fitting, care and disposal of the CaligaLoc®. Please keep these instructions in
case you need to refer to them again in the future. If you have any
questions, please contact your physician or medical retailer.
Intended purpose
The CaligaLoc® is an anatomically contoured stabilizing orthosis for the
ankle joint. The CaligaLoc® prevents the lateral twisting of the ankle to the
outside and provides effective support for the muscular stabilization of the
upper and lower ankle. The outside of the foot is raised, providing additional
relief for the outer ligaments. The CaligaLoc® can be adjusted individually
using the adjustable Velcro straps. CaligaLoc® is suitable for use in
comfortable outdoor and sports shoes, and can also be worn without shoes
overnight.
Indications
• Non-surgical treatment of torn ankle ligaments or a badly sprained ankle
joint (distortion)
• Protection following reconstructive ligament surgery
• Permanent stabilization for complex instability of the upper and/or lower
ankle

CaligaLoc® must only be worn in accordance with the specifications
contained in these instructions for use and the areas of application (places
of use) listed. To ensure the optimum fit of the CaligaLoc®, it is essential to
check whether the product is adequately shaped. If necessary, the
CaligaLoc® can be anatomically re-shaped by a specialist
The sewn-in label of the CaligaLoc®, which contains information on the
product name, size, manufacturer, washing instructions and CE certification,
is located underneath the upper strap of the orthosis. Please consult your
physician in advance if you intend to use this product in combination with
other products, e. g. if you wear compression stockings for compression
therapy.
Should you notice any unusual changes (e.g. increased symptoms), please
contact your physician without delay.

instruction in the use of supports and orthoses which are relevant to you.

Side effects involving the body as a whole have not been reported to date.
Correct usage and fitting is assumed. Do not fit the CaligaLoc® too tightly, as
this could lead to local pressure symptoms. In rare cases, constriction of
blood vessels and nerves may occur. If this happens, loosen the straps of the
CaligaLoc® and, if necessary, check the size of your CaligaLoc®.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity reactions harmful to health have not been reported to date.
In the following conditions such aids should only be fitted and applied after
consultation with your physician:
