•
Fill fuel tank with clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline.
Be careful not to overfill. Allow about 1/2" tank
space for fuel expansion.
•
Install fuel cap and wipe up any spilled gasoline.
IMPORTANT
: It is important to prevent gum deposits
from forming in essential fuel system parts such as the
carburetor, fuel filter, fuel hose or tank during storage.
Also, experience indicates that alcohol-blended fuels
(called gasohol, ethanol or methanol) can attract
moisture, which leads to separation and formation of
acids during storage. Acidic gas can damage the fuel
system of an engine while in storage. To avoid engine
problems, the fuel system should be emptied before
storage of 30 days or longer. See "Storage" on
page 17. Never use engine or carburetor cleaner
products in the fuel tank or permanent damage may
occur.
TO START THE ENGINE
WARNING
! Never start or stop engine with
electrical devices plugged into the panel
receptacles and turned on.
•
Unplug all electrical loads from generator
receptacles before starting the engine.

and deadly gas.
DANGER
areas may exceed 150°F (65°C). Avoid these
areas on the generator.
Electric Starting
•
Press the Run/Stop switch to the "RUN" position,
Press the electric start button, located on the
generator cradle opposite the control panel, until

Use short starting cycles (15 sec. per min.) to
prolong starter life. Extended cranking can damage
starter motor.
WARNING
electric starter, always operate the engine with
the battery connected. This ensures that the
battery will be recharged.
•
When the engine starts, OPEN the choke gradually
as engine warms up up by pushing in on the choke
handle.
