board when you push down the piston and also when you pull it up. Make sure that
the valve pin is in the up position. (Otherwise, air escapes immediately when you
unscrew the pump). Insert the end of the air pump tube into the valve and tighten
it clockwise.
4. Inflation
Inflate the SUP Board with the supplied air pump. (Never use a compressor!) The
inflation process takes about 5-9 minutes. The air pump's manometer display be-
comes active only when the board is inflated to a certain degree. Once the board is
well-inflated and pulling up the pump piston becomes strenuous, go ahead and un-
screw the red plug of the air pump. This allows you to switch the pump from double
to single stroke. Now, air flows into the board only when you push down the piston.
The air pressure in the board is indicated on the pump's manometer.
To deliver its best performance, the board should optimally be inflated to 0.8 bar
(12 psi) and no more than 1.05 bar (15 psi). The board is usable with a lower
pressure, but then it might sag slightly once it is in the water. Please note that if
you inflate the SUP Board in the shade, the air in the board will expand as soon as
the board is exposed to direct sunlight. In this case, please check the air pressure
once more and release some of the air if necessary. Once the board is fully inflated,
remove the pump tube from the valve and close the valve cover.
