1984-87 Mercury Topaz
Radio Removal:
1. Remove two screws securing the trim panel below the steering column.
Carefully unsnap the trim panel and remove it.
2. Remove three screws along the upper edge of the dash panel: two screws
below the radio, and one screw from the dash pocket.
3. Using a thin blade screwdriver, carefully push up two retaining clips, one on
each side of the steering column, and slide the dash panel up and off.
4. Remove four screws retaining the radio bracket assembly and remove the
radio. Disconnect the power, antenna, and speaker wires.
Desmontaje del Radio:
1. Extraer los dos tornillos que fijan la moldura bajo la columna del volante.
Desenganchar cuidadosamente la moldura y sacarla.
2. Extraer los tres tornillos que están a lo largo del borde superior de
la moldura del tablero, los dos tornillos que están debajo del
radio y el tornillo que está en la abertura del tablero.
3. Usando un desarmador delgado de punta plana empujar
hacia arriba los dos ganchos de fijación, uno a cada lado de
la columna del volante y deslizar el panel del tablero hacia
arriba y hacia afuera.
4. Extraer los cuatro tornillos que fijan el braquete del radio al tablero y
retirar el radio. Desenchufar la antena y todas las conexiones
eléctricas y de los parlantes.
SECURE THE BRACKET TO THE BOSSES LOCATED ON THE
BACK SIDE OF THE KIT WITH THE SUPPLIED HARDWARE.

Asegurar los braquetes en sus ranuras en la parte posterior

USE THE SHADED MOUNTING TABS AND THE INDICATED BRACKETS. CUT OFF THE REMAINING TABS AND DISCARD.

Usar las pestañas sombreadas y los braquetes indicados. Cortar las pestañas restantes y descartarlas.

Radio Removal:
1. Remove two screws from the pocket between the ashtray and radio trim.
Remove the pocket.
2. Remove four screws from the radio trim: two from the top, and two from
the bottom edge.
3. Remove the radio trim.
4. Remove four screws retaining the radio and remove the radio.
Disconnect the power, antenna and all speaker and electrical
connections.
Desmontaje del Radio:
1. Extraer los dos tornillos del compartimiento entre el cenicero y
la moldura del radio y sacarlo.
2. Extraer los cuatro tornillos de la moldura del radio, dos del borde superior
y dos del borde inferior.
3. Sacar la moldura del radio.
4. Extraer los cuatro tornillos que fijan el radio y
retirar el radio. Desenchufar la antena y todas las
conexiones eléctricas y de los parlantes.
NOTE: INSTALLATION OF A DIN UNIT MAY REQUIRE DASH
MODIFICATIONS.

THE KIT WITH THE SUPPLIED HARDWARE. SEE PAGE 3.
