• W ith safety systems based on the rope fric-
tion principle (abseiling devices, shortening
devices, impact absorbers or similar), restric-
tions to the function can occur due to chan-
ges in the rope and therefore make early re-
placement necessary.
• I ntensive use and/or extreme conditions of
use such as sharp edges or chemical influen-
ces etc. lead to a reduced period of use due
to safety reasons. The operator must ensure
safe use in the risk analysis for the work-
place.
• T he operator must ensure compliance with
the maximum periods of use with respect to
the documentation of first use in the device
card or the rope logbook.
• T he device card is also to be submitted at
each regular authorised inspection and
completed accordingly.
