INTRODUCTION

Please ensure you are familiar with the operating instructions prior to commissioning your
vacuum plant. Damage which may arise from incorrect siting or installation is not covered
by our guarantee.
In order to simplify any future requests for spare parts or further information about your vacuum unit, we
advise you to copy onto this page the specifications written on the plates fixed to the vacuum unit, as soon
as you receive your machine.

1.1. Specification plates

Type MINIVAC units
Serial number

DESCRIPTION

A MINIVAC vacuum unit can consist of:
One vacuum pump and one attached receiver:
Two vacuum pumps and one attached receiver:
Three vacuum pumps and one attached receiver:
Note: it is possible to combine the units to build a vacuum plant (up to 6 motors).

2.1. Vacuum pumps

MINIVAC vacuum plants are mounted with PS vacuum pumps.
MINIVAC vacuum plants are mounted with ARICA vacuum pumps.

2.2. Filtration and delivery pot

An antibacterial filtration unit traps bacteria before they reach the receivers and the vacuum pumps.
She can be:
MINIVAC 1: a single antibacterial filtration with BY-PASS consisting of a main filter: when replacing the
cartridge of the filter in by-pass mode, the air is not filtered and the pump(s) may temporarily become
polluted.
MINIVAC 2 & 3: a DUPLEX PARALLEL antibacterial filtration consisting of two filters in parallel, running
simultaneously. During replacement of one cartridge, the secondary filter provides filtration, so in this
case the pump(s) is (are) constantly protected.
Our main bacteria filters consist of a pot/opaque filter containing a special bacteria cartridge fitted with a
deflector. This filter is opaque to prevent bacteria from proliferating in the filter element. The cartridge is
made of micro fibres bound with borosilicate, and its filtration fineness is approximately 1/100
This cartridge passes the so-called sodium flame test. Penetration of bacteria and living microorganisms is
well below 0.05%, a value generally demanded by standards in various countries. A sterilizable transparent
Pyrex bottle is screwed to the base of the filter units.
An exhaust pot is placed on the exhaust circuit, located at the lowest point. Its purpose is to catch
condensation produced in the exhausted gas evacuation duct.

2.3. Electrical box

One electrical cabinet combines the motor control and protection systems.
Several types of control are available, depending on individual use:
PROCOM-2 microcomputer to control between 1 and 6 pumps with sensor regulation,
CYCLIC 2020 electronic system to control 2 or 3 pumps A, B and C with sensor regulation,
MILLENIUM automatic system to control 2 or 3 pumps A, B and C with sensor regulation,
LG7 electromechanical device to control 1 vacuum pump.

OPERATION

The air conveyed by the vacuum network passes through the main bacteria filter, enters the main receiver
and is then sucked by the vacuum pump(s) of the vacuum unit/plant.
The exhaust system consists of an exhaust hose fitted with a condensate collecting pot on a by-pass at the
lowest point of the network.
The pumps include a built-in check valve and, for added safety, a second check valve has been fitted. This is
located between the pump hose and its inlet into the receiver.
FLEXO regulation mode
When the pressure reaches the start-up pressure, the vacuum pump starts. The vacuum pump operates for
a duration equal to the FLEXO time (8 minutes adjustable).
During the FLEXO time , 3 cases can occur:
Case n°1
FLEXO time (8 minutes)
During the FLEXO time, if the pressure drops below the "Stop Motor" threshold, the vacuum pump is not
stopped.
At the end of the FLEXO time, if the pressure is up to the "Stop Motor" threshold, the vacuum pump continues
to operate until the pressure will reach the "Stop Motor" threshold.
End of FLEXO time
Start-up (-650 mbar)
Motor stop (-750 mbar)
High pressure stop (-820 or -870 mbar)
