Intended Use
The diamond impact drill can be used for drilling with
dry diamond core bits. With mounted drill chuck, the
machine is suitable for impact drilling in masonry and
for drilling in wood and steel. The power tool is not suit-
able for wet drilling in concrete.
For damage caused by usage other than intended, the
user is responsible.
Operation
Mains supply
In damp locations and outdoors, operate the power
tool with a residual current device (FI, RCD, PRCD) with
a rated residual current of 30 mA or less.
Connect the power tool only to single-phase alternat-
ing current and only to mains voltage as indicated on
the rating plate.
Connecting to socket outlets without earthing contact is
also possible.
Connect the power tool to the socket outlet only when
the machine is switched off.
Restarting protection
The restarting protection prevents the power tool from
restarting after a power failure. Before resuming work,
EDSB 160-E
you must switch the power tool off and then on again.

Overload protection

1500 W
820 W
When the motor is subject to overload, the overload
protection is actuated. The power tool then continues to
run slowly to cool the motor windings. Only after suffi-
0–1500 rpm
cient cooling can the power tool be switched on
0–3000 rpm
again. For this, switch the power tool off and then on
again.
890 rpm
Soft impact
1770 rpm
48000 rpm
Depending on the material to be worked, the soft
impact feature can significantly reduce the drilling time
or prolong the tool life of the diamond segments.

Working Advice

3–16 mm
To achieve a greater drilling process, remove the pilot
5/8" 16 UNF
bit after a drilling depth of approx. 10–15 mm. Insert
57 mm
the core bit into the existing groove and run the power
tool slowly.
4.4 kg
Drill holes that do not have to be accurately set can be
II/
carried out without a pilot drill. Apply the core bit
lightly inclined. From a drilling depth of approx. 5 mm,
slowly straighten the power tool. (Only possible with
short core bits).
If drilling core come loose, pull the core bit out of the
material and remove the core.
A sharpened core bit facilitates the operation and the
drilling progress. Options for sharpening: Drilling in
lime-sand brick or in a drilling plate.
