> Switch-mode power supply (100-240V AC / 50-60Hz) for worldwide use
> 12V car adapter included for use inside a car
OPERatION (see diagram)
Using the charger in a mains power outlet: Insert the relevant input plug included [1] (depending on the country
version). There are 4 different mains plugs A, B, C or D available, that connect to the primary contacts [2] by pushing
the plug to the stop position [3]. Please ensure that the input plug clicks audibly into the housing. To release the input
plug, please push the release button [4] (with a pen for example) and move the plug backwards.
Using the charger in a vehicle: Connect the DC output plug [5] of the 12V car adaptor to the DC input socket of the
charger [6]. Connect the car plug [7] to the cigarette lighter socket in the vehicle (12V DC). Please make sure that the
power of the cigarette lighter socket is switched on. Some cars require the ignition to be switched on.
Charging process: Insert 1-4 NiMH or NiCd cells of the sizes Mignon (AA) or Micro (AAA) corresponding to the battery
symbol in the charging slot. If the charger operates on AC power, press the START button for about 2 seconds to start
the charging process. If the charger operates in the vehicle, the charging process starts automatically after inserting
a rechargeable battery. The charge state of each cell will be indicated by one LED (see LED INDICATORS) per charging
slot. The cells do not have to be inserted simultaneously as the charging processes are independent from each other.
It is normal that cells become warm during charging. After charging is complete, the charger switches automatically
to trickle charge.
When the charger operates via the mains (100-240V AC), the trickle charge for all inserted cells will automatically
switch off after one hour from when the last cell was fully charged. The charger automatically disconnects itself from
the mains power by means of the intelligent Zero Watt Technology. It does not consume any electric power even if it
remains in the power socket.
When the charger operates in the vehicle (12V DC), there is no need for automatic cut off. Trickle charge continues until
the cells are removed or until the car plug will be disconnected from its socket.
