WHEEL BUCKLE RELEASE SET
ENG
Attention:
Always wear safety goggles when working with this tool!
! Degrease jackets prior to each use and rough up with sanding paper!
! Only use the tool if temperatures are over + 20° C!
Recommendation: the jackets should be "hand warm" – if necessary warm the jackets prior to
use!
1. Attach suitable jacket on the wheel lock head!
the ideal clamping range is at approx. 10 mm depth
the first 5mm from the cone is the centring range (image 4)
Do not strike the jacket tightly in this range – risk of breaking!!!
2. Strike the jacket straight using a heavy hammer
if the screws lie low then use impact mandrel
3. Screw the wheel locks in using a wrench (spider wrench)
apply force evenly (image 2)
4. Use impact mandrel to remove wheel lock from the jacket
attach to bench vice (see image 3)
The jackets are conic on the inside – he nce, they can be adjusted to all intermediate sizes
(recommendation: grind the jackets in 2mm steps)
Advice for extremely tight-fitting wheel locks:
Jolt the wheel lock hard before using the jackets!
Use the impact mandrel and a 2000 g hammer for this purpose
Recommendation: loosen all opposite wheel screws and then tighten them again with more
torque (approx. 130 - 140 Nm), now jolt the wheel locks and strike on the jackets
Additional info: Wheel locks with difficult application
older 3 cone systems
Problem: rotary tin ring on the outside
Solution: Remove tin ring or block by twisting
4 cone systems
Problem: very flat collar with large diameter, therefore only little working surface for jackets +
cramped available space
Solution: Opening above the collar (image 5), use jacket 20.04 AN for this purpose and grind
accordingly into shape – if necessary, also remove material from the outer wall thickness of the
jacket
