Reassemble the spark plug and restore the distance between
electrodes (0.8 ↔ 0.9 mm) otherwise replace it with one
NGK CPR7EA-9 type or equivalent. Tightening torque 12 Nm.
It is recommended to replace the engine oil.
Reassemble the radiator, water pump and thermostat assembly.
Reassemble the engine on the vehicle following the disassembly
procedure in the reverse order.
Cooling circuit, fi ll it as follows:
– Pour in the expansion tank a suitable quantity of coolant to reach
the level indicated with "Max".
– Fill the radiator with coolant through the pressure plug as indicated
in the vehicle use and maintenance handbook, making sure to
bleed the air which is inside the cooling circuit.
Repeat the radiator fi lling and circuit bleeding of all the air inside
of it.
Engine starting up
– Start up the engine with the vehicle positioned on the stand and
bring the coolant to the working temperature.
– Check and if necessary restore the coolant level inside the
radiator and the expansion tank.
– Periodically check lubricant level and change it, if necessary.
– Periodically check the coolant level.
– Wait for the engine to reach the working temperature before fully
exploiting its max. power.
– The base and head gaskets can not be used again, thus every time
you disassemble the cylinder this must be reassembled with new
gaskets.
Running-in is very important because it allows to all the new parts to
gradually settle. Failure to follow the rules set for the running-in period
could cause damages or strange deformations that would lead to a
loss of power or likely seizure. We therefore recommend to avoid using
the vehicle at its maximum power for the fi rst 500 km.
