THERMOSTATIC MIXERS MAINTENANCE
Preventive maintenance:
• Check the temperature setting at least twice a year.
• Check the anti-scalding safety every 2 months: shut-off the cold water and check whether
the hot water will block in under 3 seconds.
• In order to optimise the reliability of thermostatic mixers over time we recommend annually checking
the following parts:
- Non-return valves and filters: descaling and replacement of worn or damaged parts.
- Interchangeable cartridge: descaling of internal parts, replacement of worn or damaged internal parts
and seals.
- Mixing chamber: descaling.
If the SECURITHERM doesn't mix correctly:
• Ensure the correct balance of hot and cold water pressures.
• Check the condition and placing of filters and non-return valves, which can get blocked by impurities
• Take the thermostatic cell apart in order to clean it.
MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
• Cleaning chrome, aluminium and stainless steel: do not use abrasive, chlorine or any other acid-
based cleaning products. Clean with mild soapy water using a cloth or a sponge.
• Frost protection: drain the pipes and operate the mixer several times to drain any remaining water.
In the event of prolonged exposure to frost, we recommend taking the mechanisms apart and storing
them indoors.
