Notes
To prevent paint damage, clean the basic carrier bar
mounts (see arrows) before placing them onto the
vehicle roof.

When mounting the basic carrier bars on C-Class
vehicles (model series W 204) equipped with the
optional sliding/pop-up roof (Code 413), make sure
that the covers (see arrow) are in between the
protective enclosure (14) and the mounts (15).

2. Place the basic carrier bar (1) in the correct
position on the vehicle roof, as indicated at the front
left anchorage point (6), and check if the screws (9)
are located directly over the fastening points (10). If
necessary, using the tool (4), loosen the screws (12)
on both sides and position the basic carrier bar (1) so
that the screws (9) can be tightened by hand.
3. Lift the lever (11) and tighten the screws (9) by
hand.
Important
The levers (11) serve to tighten the screws (9)
and prevent the screws from coming loose.
4. Tighten the screws (9) with the levers (11), and
position the levers (11) in such a way (e.g. to
position I or II) that the cover caps can be fitted.
5. Tighten the screws (12) using the tool (4).
