in a blender jar that has come directly from the
dishwasher. Likewise, never place very hot liquids or
ingredients into the glass jar when it is cold.
•
Never place boiling liquids or solid frozen ingredients
(except ice cubes or frozen fruit in 1.5cm pieces) in
the jar.
•
Boiling liquids should be allowed to cool for 5
minutes before being poured into the jar.
N.B. Leave the measuring cap partially open when
blending hot liquids, this will allow the steam to escape.
Do not fi ll the jar to more than 2/3 of its capacity when
preparing hot soups.
•
Occasionally food may stick to the sides of the jar
or become lodged around the blade. Use the spatula
to dislodge the food and to place it in the middle of
the jar.
CAUTION: Only use a spatula after the blender has been
turned off . Never use metal utensils as they may damage
the jar or blade.
•
When you have fi nished blending, press the
switch and unplug the appliance from the mains.
•
Do not store food or liquids in the glass jar. Empty
and clean the jar after every use.
•
The blender has a thermal resettable fuse. If it
overloads, the appliance may shut down to prevent
overheating. If this happens, unplug the appliance
from the mains and allow to cool for at least 15
minutes. Then remove some of the food and restart
the appliance as usual.
F. Advice from the Chefs
•
Place liquids in the jar before adding the other
ingredients. This way, the ingredients will mix more
consistently.
•
Cut most ingredients into cubes of approximately
1.5 to 2.5cm for more consistent results.
•
Use the measuring cap to measure liquid ingredients
like alcohol. Replace the cap after having added the
ingredients to the jar. To blend hot ingredients, leave
the cap partially open.
•
To chop fresh herbs, garlic, onion, zest, breadcrumbs,
nuts, spices etc. make sure the jar and blades are
completely dry.
•
If food tends to stick to the sides of the jar, use the
pulse function. The pulses should be short and pause
between pulses for long enough for the blades to
stop turning.
•
Allow hot foods to cool slightly before blending, this
will prevent steam from accumulating in the jar and
lifting the lid from the jar. Leave the measuring cap
partially open when blending hot foods.
•
If you have diffi culty when blending frozen cocktails,
start with a little liquid.
