The "1" LED will illuminate if the cables are connected, and will shut down if the
cables are open. The brightness of the LED indicates the wire resistance, if lights
strong indicates low resistance, off indicates high resistance.
Telephone line polarity test
1. Place the power and function switch on the "SCAN" position, press the "TEST"
button and wait 2 seconds. The "STATUS" LED will turn off and "VERIFY" will turn
on at the same time.
2. Plug the alligators to the two wires on the RJ-11 cable connector.
3. Connect the black and Red alligator to the positive wire to the negative. If the
LED "VERIFY" light red then connection is normal, if the connection is reverse it
will turn green.

If the work environment is loud, use a headset to make the sound
clearer.
Low battery indicator
1. Place the power and function switch in the "TEST" position. If the "STATUS"
and "VERIFY" LEDs fl ash at the same time, it indicates the battery voltage is less
than 6V, change it.
If you are testing, and the LED indicator is off or the sound volume is low, replace
the battery.
If the workplace is dark, turn on LED lighting.
