3). Drops of water can accumulate in the area
above the filter holder and flow onto the
base of the product during the preparation.
To control this, wipe this area with a clean,
dry cloth after each use of the appliance.
4). Put all parts back together and keep them
for the next use.

DESCALING

So that your coffee maker remains in perfect working order, clean it regularly for
mineral deposits left by the water depending on the water hardness in your area and
the frequency of use. To descale the coffee maker, we recommend that you do as
follows:
1. 1. Fill the reservoir with water and a descaling product up to the maximum level
of the water gauge (the ratio between the water and the descaling product must be
4 to 1. Follow the instructions of the descaling product). Use a domestic descaling
product. You can also use citric acid instead of a descaling product (the ratio
between the water and the citric acid must be 100 to 3).
2. Place the carafe on the hot plate.
3. Check that the filter and filter holder are positioned correctly.
4. Turn the appliance on and wait until the descaling solution starts to go into the
carafe.
5. When the equivalent of one cup of descaling solution goes into the carafe, turn off
the appliance.
6. Leave the solution to rest for 15 minutes then repeat steps 3 to 5.
7. Switch off the appliance and then completely empty the tank of the remaining
descaling solution.
8. Rinse the appliance by letting it operate with water at least 3 times.

TIPS FOR A TASTY COFFEE

1. To obtain a tasty coffee, it is essential that the coffee maker is clean. Regularly clean
the coffee maker as indicated in the "CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE"
section. Always use clean and cold water in the coffee maker.
2. Store the unused ground coffee in a cool, dry place. After opening a packet of
ground coffee, close it carefully and keep it in the refrigerator so that the coffee
stays fresh.
3. For tasty coffee, buy coffee beans and grind them finely just before brewing them.
4. Do not reuse the coffee powder, because that significantly reduces its flavour. It is
recommended that you do not reheat the coffee, because the flavour is the most
powerful just after brewing.
5. Clean the coffee maker when it becomes greasy because of a very thorough
extraction. Small drops of oil can form on the surface of the brewed black coffee.
They are due to the extraction of oil from the powdered coffee.
6. This may be more frequent when using strongly roasted coffees.

DISPOSAL OF OLD ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES

The European directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment (WEEE), requires that old household electrical appliances must
not be disposed of in the normal unsorted municipal waste stream.
Old appliances must be collected separately in order to optimize the recovery
and recycling of the materials they contain, and reduce the impact on human
health and the environment.
The crossed out "wheeled bin" symbol on the product reminds you of your obligation,
that when you dispose of the appliance, it must be separately collected.
Consumers should contact their local authority or retailer for information concerning
the correct disposal of their old appliance.
