DESCALING

So that your coffee maker always works in
effectively, regularly remove the limescale left by
the water depending on the quality of the water
in your area and the frequency of use of the
appliance. Do the following:
1. Fill the reservoir with water and descaler
up to the maximum level indicated on the
coffee maker (the ratio of water to descaler
is 4:1, depending on the instructions of the
descaler). Please use a "household descaler".
You can use citric acid instead of descaler
(100 parts of water for three parts of citric
acid).
2. Place the carafe on the heating plate, making
sure that the centre of the receptacle of the
filter holder is aligned with the hole in the
middle of the lid of the carafe.
3. Press the on/auto/off button once and the
indicator light on the screen will illuminate
in red. After a few minutes, water will flow
automatically.
4. After having passed the equivalent of one
cup, turn off the appliance by pressing

the on/auto/off button twice. The indicator
light on the screen will illuminate in blue and
will turn off after 15 seconds.
5. Leave the solution to rest for 15 minutes and
repeat steps 3 to 5.
6. Turn on the appliance by pressing the on/
auto/off button once and let the water run
until the water reservoir is completely empty.
7. Rinse the appliance by letting it operate with
water at least 3 times.

TIPS FOR A TASTY COFFEE

1. A coffee maker must be clean to make good
coffee. Regularly clean the coffee maker as
indicated in the "Cleaning and Maintenance"
section. Always use fresh and cold water in
the coffee maker.
2. Store the unused ground coffee in a cool,
dry place. After opening a packet of ground
coffee, close it carefully and keep it in the
refrigerator to preserve its freshness.
3. For an optimal coffee taste, buy whole coffee
beans that you then grind finely just before
preparing the coffee.
